Research shows that the forgetting curve is an effective learning method in Web2 environments: by optimizing study intervals based on the forgetting curve, learners can convert short-term memory into long-term retention. However, this approach requires learners to be highly self-motivated, which can be a significant barrier to consistent engagement. To overcome this, we integrated blockchain technology with the forgetting curve learning model to create an innovative platform called Drip.
Drip enhances motivation by introducing an economic incentive model powered by blockchain. Learners participate in challenges, and those who successfully complete them not only recover their initial investment but also earn a share of a collective reward pool. This reward-based system boosts both motivation and learning persistence. Additionally, each learner’s progress is securely recorded on an NFT, allowing individuals to maintain ownership and control over their learning data at all times, further personalizing and empowering the learning experience.
